How is a chemical peel performed?

A chemical peel is a type of chemical exfoliation, a topical treatment that aims to destroy the skin to a greater or lesser depth in order to renew it, leaving it looking better and with improved cosmetic qualities. It is one of the most commonly used procedures in aesthetic medicine for repair purposes

Through controlled damage to the epidermis and dermis, layers will be removed with the ultimate goal of renewing the dermal matrix and, secondarily, improving the skin’s surface. A multitude of aesthetic defects such as blemishes, wrinkles and acne scars will be reduced or eliminated thanks to this treatment.

Before treatment, we will thoroughly assess your skin to determine which type of peel is best suited to you. We will then apply the solution to your skin, which will act in a controlled manner to remove the damaged surface layers.

Thanks to this process, we will renew your skin cells and stimulate collagen production. The result will be smoother, firmer skin.

Who is chemical peeling suitable for?

If you have a skin condition such as acne, sun spots, fine wrinkles, superficial scars or hyperpigmentation, chemical peels can help. This is thanks to the use of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or phenol (carbolic acid) peels.

In any case, at Clínica Zabalegui Dental and Facial Medicine, we will always assess your case and recommend the best treatment for you.
