Same-day dental implant placement

Until a few years ago, the success of dental implant treatment was subject to one indisputable condition: a rest period of 4 to 6 months between the placement of the implants and the placement of the prosthesis.

However, more than 15 years ago, professional papers began to be published in which a fixed prosthesis was placed on the implants on the same day they were inserted. This technique allows our patients to enjoy fixed teeth in 24 hours and is called immediate loading.

Requirements for immediate placement

For immediate loading of teeth to have a good prognosis, it is essential that a series of conditions are met.

  • Adequate bone quality: the quality and quantity of bone must be sufficient to ensure adequate implant stability.
  • In cases of complete arch (upper or lower), there are two fundamental variables: being able to accommodate a sufficient number of implants and being able to distribute them appropriately.
