This procedure involves a series of corrections to deformities that occur in the gums as a result of various destructive events (hyperplastic gingivitis, periodontitis), traumatic events (avulsion, trauma) or tooth extractions that reduce tissue volume.<\/p>\n
These microsurgical procedures aim to correct deviations that alter the shape of the soft tissues that surround the smile <\/strong>(the gums, in colloquial terms). The ideal relationship between the tooth and its gum is when the gum covers the entire root of the tooth, but without covering the enamel or exposing the root. <\/p>\n All these solutions are performed using microsurgical techniques<\/strong>, which involves the use of magnifying lenses or dental microscopes, instruments specially designed for minimally invasive procedures, and extremely fine sutures. It is not a pathology in itself, and does not mean that the future of the tooth is at risk (unless it is accompanied by loss of bone support for the tooth).
